INTRODUCTION

moksha

Lord Krishna in Bhaghavatham, after instructing various dharmas, the yuga dharma was described. It was finally said there that all dharmas will be lost in kaliyuga and only the dharma in the shape of Nama Sankeerthana will shine.
So the Nama Sankeerthanam otherwise Bhajana is greater then that obtained in Moksha (Liberation). The great saints like Sanaka, Suka, Narada did not care for Moksha and did Hari Keerthanam. Bhajananandam is alone to be the supreme fruit of one's effort.

Even Kaivalya cannot equal to Bajanananda. Thus sanakadhi rishis who had realised Bhrahmanandam (identity with brahman with no attribute) did not value that state much. This is clearly stated in Bhagawatham as follows:_

"THE BREEZE LADES WITH THE HONEY OF THE THULASI BLOSOMS MIXED WITH THE DUST OF THE LOTUS FEET OF THE LOTUS EYED LORD, ENTERED THE INTERIOR OF THOSE SAGES THROUGH THE NOSE AND NOT ONLY THRILLED THEIR BODY BUT CAUSED A FLUTTER IN THEIR MINDS TOO IMMERSED AS THEY WERE IN THE JOY OF ONENESS WITH THE ABSOLUTE"

Hence Nama Sankeerthanam is the only sadhana for a Soul. There is no doubt about this . Any body can do Nama Japa at any time irrespective of place, group and situation.

Nama Sankeerthana otherwise Bhajans are in the various forms and different people sings the songs according to their knowledge. In India Various Gurus composed different type of songs depends on the place deity and several compositions of different eminent composers are rendered in the form of bajana, javali, thillanas, classical and hindustani music, slokas, padams, abhangs and pasurams.

Just as Adi Sankara established Adwaitha Siddhantha, Bhagawan nama Siddhantham has been established by Sri Bhagavannama Bodhendhra Saraswathi Swamigal.

Alwargal, Nayanmargal from Tamil nadu , Kannada devotees like Kanva dasa, Purandaradasa, North Indian bhakthas like Thukaram, Kabirdas, Meera, Thulasidas and Telugu Bhakthas like Ramadas, Tyagaraja have only sung songs about the greatness of God. Also they have established bhakthi all over India. Only Sri Bodhendhra Swamigal, Sri Sridhara Iyyaval and Marudanallur Sadguru Swamigal have been accepted as Gurus and Trinities of Bhajan Sampradhaya.

The greatness for establishing Nama Siddhantha was the main duty of these trinities. Sri Sathguru Swamigal in addition to Nama Keerthanam, preached the singing of songs describing the name form and Qualities of the lord with the accompaniment of music instruments like veena, mirudhangam etc., Sri Sadguru swamigal collected various songs from different composers and formated a system which is laterly called "The Padhathi"( The grammer or rules of singing songs in Bhajana Sampradhyam). These system laterly adopted by all bhagavathas throughout the country and described as "The Sampradhaya "  or a format among the bhagavathas. Hence Sri Sadguru Swamigal is being called as the Acharya of bhajana sampradhaya. From that time onwards the "Bhajana Sampradhaya" is being adapted by all without any modification.

In the recent period Sri Gopalakrishna Bhaghavathar of aPudhukottai near Trichy in Tamilnadu, one of the foremost bhakthas of the present day, witness this great and most venerable Bhagavath Bhaktha spent his days by singing kirtanaas to the tune of Thambura and dancing fully absorbed in the ecstatic, Ananda of divine love, from morning till night in rending bhajans. He has travelled all over India and spread "Sampradhaya Bhajan among the various people and established "Sampradhaya Bhajan.

After his period (1971) Sri Sanjeevi Bhaghavathar follows the Bhajana Sampradhaya.
In Kaliyuga or the present yuga, all the bhagavathas and the people who involed in the "Bhajana Sampradhaya" believe Sri Sadguru Gopalakrishna Bhavathar is the reincarnation of Sri Thiagaraja, Sri Prahladha, Narasimha & Sri Sathguru Swamigal.

We dedicate this site exclusively to the Lotus feet of Sri Pudukottai " Sri Gopalakrishna Bhagavathar".
