In this Kali Yuga ,Naama sankirtan is considered the easiest means for attaining salvation.Birth as Human Being is a rare gift granted by GOD .Hence one should not waste this previous life. Human beings can easily practice Naama Sankirtan and derive optimum benefit in this life and finally reach the god of our birth. Everybody wants to live longer but nobody wants to grow older. But paradoxically every moment of our breathingt shortens the life span and it is most unpredictable as to when the cruel jaws of death will snatch away our life. Further as we grow older our limbs may or may not cooperate with us to undertake the noble needs. Not that HOW OLD ARE YOU? That counts, but HOW YOU ARE OLD? That counts a lot. Examples like the lives of Prahlada and Dhurva who are worshipped even today and who have developed devotion from their childhood will testify the above truth. Hence the urge to take Naama Sankirtan in right earnest from stages of our life.
The efficacy of BHAGAVAN NAAMA needs hardly any emphasis. The nature of fire is to burn anything that comes in contact with it. A child touches the fire unwitingly , an adult contacts it with full knowledge of its consequences. But the treatment is alike to both. So too, whether one utters the Divine names knowingly or unknowingly, it DOES wipe out the sins of the persons adopting this course. Further one need not unload a wagonful of firewood and set fire to destroy a heap of hay or a bale of cotton,but a spark of fire would suffice to reduce it to ashes. Likewise a DIVINE NAME uttered sincerely absolves us of our sins and sanctifies the surroundings.
In Bhagawat Gita. Lord Sri Krishna has proclimed that He protects HIS devotees who remember him always and takes care of all their needs. The examples of such Devotees who led their lives on the path of devotion are available copiously in our PURANAS/HISTORY.
To adopt Naama Sankirtan no rigid observance of any rule is insisted. In this present hard days, conducting religious rituals like Homa, Yaaga and doing penace are beset with lot of impediments. Hence we can not undertake such paths. But utterance of Divine Names is very easy and fetches us the result immediately. We can mentally do Naama Japa while engaged in any work and during the travel also, we can utter the names. Therefore this course is advocated as most beneficial and easily accessible.
